Synchronicity

Several years ago, I created this image as an oil painting. My motivation back then was to create something that would cheer me up whenever I looked at it... and the finished painting did just that.

Eventually, I decided to make a print of that painting. Here's why:

I see lots of contemporary interiors that are thoughtfully designed. The art, the furnishings, the bookshelves, etc. are all placed with intention and love. Honestly, I would like to live and work in most of those places.

What is often missing, however (in my humble opinion) is at least a splash of color -- some object or piece of art that is way out there on the axis of chroma saturation. I just think the eye needs a little of that intensity, even if the person in that room is not consciously aware of its absence.

So, in a nutshell, that's what "Synchronicity" is for. The green leaf is really green. The flower is a strong dose of purple, and so forth.
